Whether you’ve trained in the past, are returning after an acting hiatus, or looking to reinvigorate your process, The Greenhouse program is unique in it’s ability to support your growth as an artist no matter what career stage you’re at.

Through a curriculum designed in consultation with Julia, The Greenhouse can operate as a supplement to your current classes/training, or as a stand alone coaching intensive.

“MOST OF US HAVE TWO LIVES. THE LIFE WE LEAD AND THE UNLIVED LIFE WITHIN US. BETWEEN THE TWO STANDS RESISTANCE.”

_Steven Pressfield

    Jack Ferrier

It never occurred to me as an actor out of drama school, that a coach to assist me with auditions, mindset and technique was an option, so instead I tripped, stumbled and fell flat on my face more times than I care to recall. When I did book a job, it was usually off the back of another project - the old, ‘work begets work’, so what do you do when you’re not working?!

It’s taken me years to work out that the industry doesn’t define my artistry, I do. You have to take your career into your own hands. That might look like writing your own stuff, it might be going to class, it might be putting down one new scene a week to send to your agent, that’s usually when Resistance steps in.

Resistance is the feeling that we know we can do more if only we put our minds (and bodies) to work.

The Greenhouse is structured to stand toe to toe with Resistance, to teach your body that you have the capacity to fuel your own fire, with help from an outside eye, (that’s me).

Tell me what you want to work on, and I’ll build a curriculum for you. This is dedicated time to do the thing you love. Whether you want to produce captivating self tapes, a technique tune-up, reconnect with your joy in acting or strengthen your trust muscle, The Greenhouse program is there to support you while cultivating rigour, growth and integrity in your artistry.

program inclusions

Due to Julia’s professional acting commitments in 2025, The Greenhouse is currently a 45 day program.

  • Tailored curriculum

This is not a ‘one size fits all’ program. It is highly specialised and crafted to address what you need at this point in your career.

  • 1 x 90 minute consultation session with Julia Grace

In the consultation, we’ll discuss what you’d like to work on and areas you’d like to attend to in your artistry, whether you’re an actor, musical theatre performer, writer, director. This initial game plan usually evolves over the three months as we work together.

  • 4 x 60 minute coaching sessions with Julia Grace

These are over zoom, however, if you’re in Melbourne, you’re welcome to swap one out for ‘in person’ sessions. These can be used to go over feedback from tapes, to work a scene, audition coaching, dramaturgy, strategy. How and when you use them is up to you. If you’re unsure how to structure your time, Julia can help.

  • 1 x 90 minute consultation session with Emily O’Brien-Brown

Emily offers a comprehensive approach to honing your professional image and enhancing your online presence in this competitive industry.

  • Materials appraisal & curated script selection

Both Emily & Julia will assess your headshots, showreel & website, address any gaps with regard to your ‘castability’ and curate scenes to fill these gaps.

  • Unlimited self-tape feedback

Whether you’re about to send in a self tape for an audition, want feedback on a showreel you’ve put together, or it’s your weekly practice, send it in! I aim to deliver written feedback within a 24-36 hour window.

  • Progress Reports

These are less ‘report card’ and more a tangible way to measure your growth and articulate discoveries and what still needs addressing.

  • Email support from Julia for any queries that may pop up between sessions

You know when an audition comes through and it says ‘in perpetuity’ and your agent is super busy and you don’t know if you should submit? Email Julia. She also has plenty of baking tips.

  • 10 day Self Tape Challenge

Part of why this program works is because it gives you structure and accountability to get the work done. For 10 days, we supercharge this. Julia will send you 10 scenes to tape over 10 days, no excuses!

  • Discounted coaching fees with Julia beyond the program for the next 12 months from completion date.

As a Greenhouse participant, you’re eligible for discounted coaching beyond the program at $100 per session.

  • 12 month access to my online toolkit, MAP for Actors: strategies for self-taping when you’re stuck

Even when the program is over, you still have support through free access to my online toolkit which encompasses over 25 videos, written lessons and a downloadable guide. (Access starts the first day of the program)

  • A welcome gift

This bit is a surprise. You just have to keep your eyes peeled on your mailbox.

All sessions are held over Zoom although participants have the option to swap out two online sessions for two in person sessions to be conducted in Melbourne.

Due to the intensive nature of the program, there are limited places per quarter.

Payment Plans available.

The next round will commence February 10th, 2025

Julia

I learnt how to teach from one of the world’s most renowned theatre companies.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company ensemble members are the original slashies; they act, direct, write and teach, and most importantly, everything they teach is based in practical application, cultivating fearlessness, and ownership as an artist.

I feel extremely lucky as the only Australian who’s had the privilege of being mentored in their approach to acting training.

Like my mentors, I work across acting, directing, writing and teaching. I’m constantly engaged with the industry, which enables me to teach from a perspective of practicality, versatility and empathy.
